
Madison Man Sentenced on Heroin Charge
Madison, Wis. - John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Eric Cribbs, 43, Madison, Wis., was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge William Conley to 42 months in prison for distributing heroin. Cribbs pleaded guilty to this charge on June 9, 2011.
Between July and September 2010, law enforcement officers utilized an informant to buy heroin from Cribbs at different locations in Dane County. On April 2, 2011, Cribbs was arrested in a lawful traffic stop. During a search of Cribbs incident to the arrest, officers found heroin and crack cocaine.
The charges against Cribbs were the result of an investigation conducted by Dane County Narcotics and Gang Task Force and the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation. The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul W. Connell.
